Eat or Go To School
When a family makes less than $3 a day, the decision to send a child to school becomes much more than just, “Should they get an education or not?” Instead of sending the student to school, they could send them to beg in the streets. Instead of spending the money to buy supplies and uniforms, they could use that money to eat.
Because of this, Point of Impact wants to provide backpacks for children in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, so that families will not have to choose between food and education. For $45, you can send a student to school equipped with a new backpack, a school uniform, a pair of shoes, and school supplies (3 notebooks, crayons, dictionary, pencils and sharpener, erasers, scissors and glue sticks).
When you give, the money goes straight to Honduras where the supplies are purchased to save on shipping costs. Volunteers from the churches put the bags together and give them to the children in the POI program. In this way, the body of Christ is meeting practical needs and showing the families they care because of what Jesus has already done for them. Offer hope this Christmas by giving a backpack now!
